Learn more about Exercise Physiology (EP)

  • An EP is a university qualified allied health professional, equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective clinical exercise interventions.

    EP's are regulated by the national body of Exercise & Sports Sciences Australia (ESSA).

  • People who may be at risk of developing, or have existing, medical conditions or injuries, such as:

    • Diabetes
    • Metabolic Syndrome
    • Neurological Disease
    • Musculoskeletal conditions
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Depression and other mental health conditions
  • The aim of exercise physiology interventions are to prevent or manage sub-acute or chronic disease or injury, and assist in restoring an individuals optimal physical function, health or wellness.

  • At your initial consultation, the EP will understand your medical and exercise history, assess your current capacity, and will prescribe the most appropriate exercise program tailored to you and backed by evidence-based research.

    Regular reviews with your EP will then be discussed and agreed to at reasonable time intervals.
